Year 10 historians started their trip to Krakow with a walking tour of the city. We visited the Jewish Quarter and were able to see parts of the Jewish Ghetto that was established in Krakow during World War Two. In the afternoon, the group had a memorable time listening to the experiences of Holocaust Survivor. On day two we visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp were pupils found out about the experiences of the over 1 million Jewish men, women and children who were murdered there. It was a very harrowing experience but something all pupils will remember for a lifetime.

During our visit to the camp the pupils took part in a service of remembrance led by Miss Porter, were we reflected on this devastating period in world history.
