Yesterday evening we hosted our annual Careers and Options event. We were delighted to see so many pupils from years 9, 10 and 11 and their parents and carers in attendance.
A range of employers, training providers, college and university representatives supported the event. Special thanks to the representatives from; the Army Careers service, BAE Systems, Cardinal Newman College, The Challenge – National Citizen Service, DWP, Edge Hill University, Eric Wright Group, Hutton Church of England Grammar Sixth Form, Kirkham Grammar Sixth Form, Lancaster Girls Grammar Sixth Form, HM Land Registry, Marsden Rawsthorn Solicitors, MJH Accountants, Moor Park Sixth Form, Myerscough College, Next Step Careers, PNE FC Community and Education Trust, Preston City Council, Preston’s College, RAF, Rosemere Cancer Foundation - Radiotherapy Department, Royal Navy, Runshaw College, Training 2000 and UCLAN for supporting our school and advising parents and pupils on career choices, training, apprenticeships and courses.
Teachers were also on hand to advise year 9 pupils and their parents and carers on their Options. All year 9 pupils will attend an individual Year 9 Options Consultation with a senior member of staff on the week beginning Monday 4th March 2019. Appointment times will be issued.
Thanks to the PTA for providing refreshments throughout the evening and thanks again to everyone who attended. We received many positive comments from parents and pupils. We hope that it was useful and look forward to hosting another successful event again next year.
