
Archbishop Temple School’s Music Department are delighted to announce details of their Summer Music Concert in the beautiful surroundings of Preston Minster on Friday 7th July 2017 at 7pm.
The school’s Senior Percussion Ensemble will premiere ‘In Flight’ by Jan Bradley, a piece commissioned for school and half funded by the NST Travel Group. Jan is a member of the highly regarded percussion quartet 4—MALITY and composer of percussion music. The programme will also feature pieces that the school’s Senior Percussion Group and Senior Concert Band will perform on 14th and 15th July 2017 at the internationally renowned World Music Concert in Kerkrade, The Netherlands.
Current Year 10 pupil Susanna Raj will perform two pieces from her Grade 8 Alto Sax Repertoire and ex-pupils Andrew Woolcock and Ben Jarvis will join piano teacher Robert Rainford to play ‘Chieba’, a piece composed and adapted for the school by Jan Bradley. Andrew Woolcock was the Percussion Winner at the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2016. Andrew and Ben will go on to play a joint recital of the piece in the stunning surroundings of Johanneskirche in Dusseldorf later on in the month.
