French ladies and gentlemen, Tour de France cyclists, French and Spanish footballers and a Flamenco dancer sashayed around our corridors yesterday to celebrate the annual European Day of Languages. The celebration has been held in schools and colleges across Europe for the past fifteen years, to promote language learning and linguistic diversity.
Staff and pupils dressed up and took part in a variety of activities including a Boules contest and in-class quizzes. The French cafe proved incredibly popular with pupils sampling delicious French pastries and freshly cooked crêpes.
