The Scholastic Book Fair proved very popular over World Book Week. It was great news for the school library as a good percentage of the money raised actually comes back to the library, to be spent on new stock.

The first batch of new books have arrived and Mrs Dearden, School Librarian, is set to order some other new titles for the library's shelves.

The winning title in the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize 2018, 'The Hate U Give', has also been donated to the library. Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, this powerful and gripping Young Adult novel has been recommended to pupils in years 9, 10 and 11.

The school library are grateful of any suitable book donations. The library is rapidly expanding, with lots of eager readers keen to borrow new material. As well as books for children and young adults the library also holds a stock of fiction and non-fiction for teaching staff to read. So, if you are looking to offload any unwanted books, please do consider the school library as a home for them!
