Year 8 Geographers have been carrying out their decision making exercise and whole class debate about whether tuna fishing is sustainable. This is part of their ‘Can the Earth Cope?’ topic on managing resources. Pupils have worked hard to work in a team, research evidence for their role play in the debate, write a persuasive speech and ask pertinent questions to other teams. In developing techniques in enquiry learning and public speaking, pupils have gained valuable life skills that are useful in the workplace.
